The CDU is the first party to utilize the make.tv virtual television studio for a campaign broadcast with Angela Merkel and Roland Koch.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the former and new Hessian Minister President Roland Koch are the first prominent politicians to appear in the www.make.tv virtual television studio. As the election results show, the move paid off for the CDU in Hessen.
What these two top politicians can do can be done by every club, music band or SME. For less than 25 Euros per month, access to a professionally equipped, virtual television studio is available at www.make.tv, state the operators of make.tv GmbH. Nothing more than a PC or notebook with a DSL connection and a web or video camera are needed to produce television programs and broadcast them live to the Internet public on a freely selectable webpage. Simply point the camera at the person or event, select the webpage on which it should be broadcast, and the program is ready to go. The virtual studio's basic functions are even available free of charge.
The CDU may have been the first political party to use the make.tv virtual television studio, but make.tv creator Andreas Constantin Meyer is convinced that other parties will be quick to discover make.tv for their campaigns. The 38-year-old Internet entrepreneur is no stranger to politics. At age 21 he developed the computer game "Euro Tour" for the then-federal government which was distributed by the millions to children and youths to help them understand the integration of Europe. The game was so successful that it was translated into 25 languages and used by nearly every European government. Andreas C. Meyer wants to set a similar milestone with make.tv. His goal: to replace the typical static images found on practically every webpage with moving images. Every sports club, SME, music band and ambitious Internet user can go on the air at www.make.tv. Broadcasts can be made either on the user's own webpage or in the user's profile on a social network, such as Facebook. "In two to three years, I'm sure that the flood of static images in the World Wide Web will be replaced by moving images", says Andreas C. Meyer.
Internet entrepreneur Andreas Constantin Meyer's make.tv GmbH started Germany's first virtual television studio. At www.make.tv, anyone can produce programs and present them live to the Internet public. A PC with a DSL connection and a web or video camera are all that is required. No additional hardware or software is necessary. Broadcasts can be made on any webpage, for example in a user's social network profile. Live broadcasts can be watched later as a video. Professional functions such as camera and background changes, video conferences or viewer polls can be realized with a click of the mouse. Basic functions are free of charge and professional usage around the clock costs less than 25 Euros per month. By charging a minimal fee, make.tv makes it possible for businesses, clubs, musicians, event organizers and private users alike to start their own TV channel with its own online video library on the Web.
